Solar Battery Charger

These days everybody has some kind of electronic device they take with them on vacations or just an outing for the day. If your fortunate to get away on weekends to go camping, or skiing, or say, fishing for a day or two most people can agree that’s a lot of fun. With these activities in mind, we all have to worry about our vehicles, RV’s, Boat batteries becoming discharged from all the activities going on during the day and the use of lights after the sun has gone down. Wouldn’t it be nice to eliminate that problem.

Well now you can with a Coleman Solar Panel Battery Chargersolar panel battery charger/Maintainer.

This Coleman Solar Panel Charger provides immediate charge when exposed to daylight, even on cloudy days. It charges your 12V- RV, Boat or Truck batteries so you can run small appliances such as fluorescent lights, coolers, small TV’s or laptops.  It has Plug- n- Play compatible for quick connections, a cigarette lighter adapter and battery clamps are also included with the panel. The charger is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Go have fun and take your electronics with you.  With this Coleman Solar Panel Battery Charger/Maintainer along for the ride you don’t have to worry about discharging the batteries to low, and not to function like they are suppose to.  That will keep you from running your vehicles for periods of time just to charge up the battery, and that cost you extra money for gas.

Second Generation Solar panel

Let’s consider a new source of making Solar PowerThin Film Solar Panel Energy with Thin Film Solar Panel.  Thin Film Solar Panels are used to a great extent in making satellites.  Thin Film technology is being extended to use in residential and industrial and was named one of the best inventions of 2008 by Times magazine.

Thin Film Solar Panels are bendable, unlike the poly-silicon cells that are found in conventional crystalline solar panels.  Thin Film Solar Panels are considered being as a second generation solar power technology.  If a poly-silicon cell is damaged with a crystalline solar panel then their is a good chance the whole panel is damaged and not functioning right, but with the Thin Film Solar Panel will continue to operate. Thin Film Solar Panels are bendable and can be molded to a lot of different surfaces with glue or screws. They can be placed in areas were the traditional crystalline solar panels can not be mounted to.  They can even be sewed onto materials like a jacket or maybe a tent or tent cover to supply charge to your hand held electronic devises.

There is a downside to Thin Film Solar Panels, because they are thin they don’t take in as much energy. These panels are not as efficient as photovoltaic panels but they cost less.  Thin Film Solar panels are a low wattage and need to have more space than the traditional panels but with that in mind, manufactures offer better warranties.  Sounds like a good ideal for metal roofs.

college-graduateIf you’re about to venture out to college this coming fall, it’s very likely that you’re a bit lost about what to study in school. After all, if you’ve come directly from high school, many people still don’t have any clue about what they eventually want to do with their careers or lives. And if you’re in this undecided area of limbo, consider going into an area of study that focuses on green energy.

In this way, you might just be a part of the team that manufacturers realistic, cost-effective alternative fuel vehicles or more efficient solar power for homes. It will be a field of study that’s certainly rewarding, but it is also very likely to receive a lot of funds and grants because of the potential for widespread application. Plus, you can be in on the ground floor for the next big technology, which means you could potentially have some serious financial opportunities.

Harvesting the Suns Power for Solar Energy!

A  Home Owner that is enthusiastic about the environment and saving money, one good choice is harvesting the power of the sun for making Solar Energy. Solar Power Energy is a form of renewable energy that does not pollute the earth no matter how much you use. Harvesting more of this kind of energy will not in any way decrease the supply of solar energy on earth. It is a endless supply of a natural energy just waiting to be used in an environmentally friendly way, and can not be used to pollute or hurt our earth as for their is no left over waste that can be dumped into our soil or water system to pollute anything.

With your own set of Solar Panels, you can maintain the cost per watt of energy as long as the photovoltaic panels work for you. With conventional sources of energy, you are expected to pay more and more every year due to inflation and the ever depleting source of fuel, even as the costs for it just keeps rising.

Can you recall how much we had to pay on our energy bills 10 to 15 years ago?  It absolutely hurts us today to see how much more were paying for it now. And can you honestly say that the price for energy may decline. I don’t believe so.   That’s why if any time would be to start thinking about an alternative energy source then, NOW is the right time to start. Just taking baby steps toward the process of changing the way we think about harvesting energy could save us all a ton of money, I am sure we would like to use for the money for other necessary things.

Their arehands_sun many other amazing facts about Solar Energy that makes it the worlds preferred source of renewable energy.  But how can we take advantages of harvesting the marvelous source of never ending power?  There are many ways will talk about in later posts, but for now a good place to start is with Solar Panels for electricity.

There are many diy solar energy guides out their to help people understand that if your willing to learn and get your hands a little dirty you can build your own Solar Power Energy System at a fraction of the cost, as to hiring a solar energy company to install the whole system, which they would be more than happy to do so.

Lighting the Way to Green Living

solar-powerRemember when the word “green” only denoted a color, back before green living became a way of life? These days, it’s on the lips of politicians, talking heads on TV and even conscientious American homeowners. People are becoming increasingly aware of the waste associated with excessive electricity use. As a result, efficient forms of energy are on the rise. Solar lights are now used to illuminate gardens, porches, pathways and ponds.

Especially ambitious consumers have even taken the next logical step by outfitting their homes with solar heating systems. By harnessing the power of the sun, they save significant heating and electrical costs every month. It’s really only a matter of time before those living in the sunniest areas of the country make the switch to solar. These days, green is more than just a color. It’s a conscious choice that’s beneficial for our pocketbooks and our consciences.

Camping in the Modern Age

solarIn my younger days, I would go camping with friends practically every weekend. If a whole month went by without my heading out to the woods, I would begin to get antsy and alienated. Being in touch with nature was more a necessity than a vacation or a luxury. But then, as happens to us all, I started getting older and more dependent on modern amenities and technology.

Now happily married, I’ve had to make a few compromises and concessions in order to go camping much at all. For instance, my wife is not the traditional outdoorsy type. She would take a featherbed over a down sleeping bag any day of the week. With that in mind, I saved up to buy an RV with all the top-of-the-line appliances and other luxuries. I mounted RV solar panels to the roof in order to save on power, and the effort has given me a chance to reconnect with nature once more.

History of the Solar Panel

Antoine_Cesar _BecquerelDid You Know:

The history of  Solar Panels dated back to 1829.

A French scientist named Antoine-Cesar Becquerel discovered the photovoltaic effect.  The discovery evolved during an experiment, a electrolytic cell was made from two metal electrodes and were placed into a electrolyte solution.

Becquerel discovered that when the cells were exposed to light it produced a certain amount of electricity, the more light there was the more output of electricity.

To our satisfaction that was when Solar Panels were invented.

Thank You- Antoine-Cesar Becquerel

Teaching Kids about Energy Savings

Solar Panels

While it’s not reasonable to expect that children understand every aspect of household finance, it doesn’t hurt to give them a head start. By teaching your kids to live within their means, you greatly improve their chances of avoiding a pit of debt later in life. I began the process by explaining the details of the heating and electric bills to my kids. Then we sat down and came up with strategies for reducing the monthly costs.

My son struck upon a novel idea that never would have occurred to me: we could pursue solar energy to supplement our household heating and electrical. I found a book online explaining how to build DIY solar panels in great detail. It turns out that most of the materials necessary for the task are widely available and inexpensive to boot. Somehow my attempt to teach the kids about budgeting transformed into a bonding experience.
