Important Gardening Tool-Composter

Sunday, May 2, 2010

If you love to garden like I do, then you know how important fertilizerComposter is to the soil in your garden. Here is one of the Gardening Tools you may want to consider using for all your plants. It’s called -

The Earthmaker Aerobic Composter is the world’s first continuous cycle compost bin with three chambers for faster results. The latest in composting – extra eco-friendly. Simply load the organic waste into the large top opening. The secure swiveling door keeps animals out. The interior triple chamber configuration provides faster results than traditional bins and keeps fresh waste and mature compost separate. This unit will make twice as much compost as traditional bins over the same time period. Aerobic action reduces flies and greenhouse gases. The Earthmaker is easy to assemble, no tools needed. Also easy to use and empty. Composting tool, user guide and assembly instructions included.

Composting just got easier, faster, less odorous, and even more earth-friendly. The world’s first continuous-cycle compost bin, the Earthmaker aerobic composter processes kitchen waste, grass clippings and more-twice as fast as traditional bins. Rather than having to rotate or stir material once a day, the Earthmaker requires easy, 10-second maintenance just once a month, producing up to 10 gallons of compost in just 4 weeks. The Earthmaker easily keeps up with kitchen scraps and grass clippings, adding vital nutrients to garden soil for healthier plants while reducing household landfill waste by 20 percent.

Best of all, the gravity fed design also means no more rotating or stirring messy compost every day. All you have to do is pull out the unit’s chamber floor panel, just once a month, to let material drop into the next chamber. No more resetting the compost clock every time you mix fresh matter with half-finished compost, the Earthmaker’s ingenious gravity-fed, triple-chamber design keeps fresh waste and mature compost separate, letting it tumble down and aerating it as it falls, so you can add fresh kitchen waste and remove mature compost any time.

The Earthmaker’s super-efficient design keeps nearly-finished compost always on the bottom, sending warm gasses upward to hasten decomposition. Faster decomposition means fewer flies and mosquitoes as well as less smell and fewer greenhouse gasses for a healthier planet.

Depending on the season and climate, it takes just 3 months before mature compost can be removed from the Earthmaker. After the first batch is ready, the Earthmaker provides up to 10 gallons (35 liters) of excellent compost every month. The unit holds up to 123 gallons (16.5 cubic feet) of material, and measures 47 by 30 inches (height by diameter). The purchase includes a composting tool, user guide and instructions for quick, snap-together assembly without tools.

A Must Have Gardening Tool

When your out to clean up the yard, no matter if your property is the size of a city lot or your property is 5 to 10 acres, their is always some brush, brier’s, small limbs to be cut back and keep cut back if possible .  That lets your mower groom the grass up tight and close to the edges.  Some brush, brier’s, and limbs are to small for the thought of getting out the big chainsaw to cut them back, and the thought of using a hand saw doesn’t sound like a good idea ether, maybe to hard to reach or may take to long or it maybe brier’s you don’t want to get to close to those sticklers ether, nor would I.

I found a solution that you may like, with this nice piece of gardening equipment might just be the right tool.  It is called Earthwise 18 volt, 8-inch Cordless Chainsaw.  It has an Oregon Chain & Bar, with an automatic Oiler, with a oil level window, weighs about 13 lbs. and comes with a plastic blade cover for safety when not in use. It also has a 18 volt Ni-Cad battery and Charger that comes with it. Sounds perfect  for those medium to small sized jobs around the property, doesn’t use any gasoline, and you don’t have to run any extension cords to drag across the lawn in any direction.

No limit where you can take this Gardening ToolCordless Chain Saw, and the price is reasonable too!

Make your own Mulch

It’s almost time to start mowing again.  When you get the mower out and fill it up with gas, check the oil, check the tire pressure, and you think I’m ready to mow.  As you look around the yard you see a few leaves over there stuck in some bushes, a few limbs laying around under trees, or maybe it’s time to do a little trimming on the trees and bushes.  Well before you mow the grass you have to go out first and pick up what’s left laying around, and you might think to yourself,

” I wish I could recycle this rubbish instead of just throwing it away.”

Well you most certainly can-  If you purchased a Gardening ToolMcCulloch Chipper Shredder called a Chipper/Shredder that runs by electric ( No Gas ) you can shred leaves and limbs and brush into mulch to spread around plants, incorporate it into your landscaped areas to use as free mulch.  And your free mulch will decay just like the mulch that you purchase at the store but you didn’t have to pay for it, like we do every year to beautifies our flower beds.  I found this McCulloch 14-amp electric Chipper/Shredder that makes quick work out of twigs and small branches, It has a 3-way feed that makes it easy to reduce your yard waste in a minimal amount of time. You can save money by making your own mulch. McCulloch, Electric Chipper/Shredder has a 14 amp Motor, Shreds Brush and Leaves, Chips Limbs up to 1-1/2″ diameter, rounded discharge chute for easy clean up, Easy Maintenance, Maneuverability and Storage.  Rated 4 stars.

You can take care of yard waste and do your part to help protect the environment.  Every gardening tool has it’s place and this one is for making mulch.

You Need Garden Tools to plant Garlic

Garlic bulbsHave you thought about just how important the herb Garlic is-  Pretty important!

With the use of Gardening Tools, you can easily grow garlic in your garden.

I got my information from the book “the good Herb”  Garlic can be used for many different purposes, Ancient Chinese herbalists prescribed it, chewed raw, to ward off colds and coughs. And to keep you healthy and energized.  Vietnamese herbalists, too, believe that raw garlic prevents sickness and fatigue.  In France some people keep themselves healthy by drinking mashed garlic steeped in vinegar.  They call it “Four Thieves Vinegar” and remains a popular folk tonic in France today.

According to reports from the National Cancer Institute and The Journal of Interferon Research, compounds in garlic help to stimulate the immune system, and reduce the body’s stress from pollution.  Garlic also contains germanium, a mineral that can help prevent cancer cells from reproducing.

Even though it’s not a guarantee that you’ll never get cancer, it can’t hurt you either.  Also garlic is good to cook with in soups, casseroles, stir fries, sauces, and savory breads.  Garlic is also useful in the garden, as an intensely aromatic spray that keeps predator bugs away.  To make it, soak one-quarter cup minced or mashed garlic in a quart of water overnight, and strain.  Spray the garlic water two days in a row, wait two weeks, and then spray two days in a row again.

Get out your garden tools, and lets plant something good, don’t forget the Garlic.
